Beestenmarkt
De Beestenmarkt is een plein in de binnenstad van Leiden. Het plein is driehoekig van vorm en ligt tussen de Steenstraat en het water van de Oude Vest.
On and along the square, you will find mainly restaurants and hospitality establishments, but here you will also find the Lido cinema and more than enough shops. Canal cruises through the Leiden canals depart from the Beestenmarkt.
In the past, cattle markets were held on this square, hence the name Beestenmarkt.
