Artist Caroline Ellerbeck pays tribute to the pub in the BplusC Library location Nieuwstraat in Leiden.
Caroline consciously chose to draw exteriors. “A pub beckons from outside. “Pubs are nostalgic candy boxes, the trendsetters of the city.” The illustrations are truthful but not a literal copy of the facade. "Some illustrations are more colorful than reality. I like color. I use a lot of yellow because yellow represents warmth. I associate yellow with a steamy pub."
