Meet the young Rembrandt in a beautiful 7-minute 3D video experience in the house where he was taught by master Jacob van Swanenburgh.

In the Young Rembrandt Studio, a 17th century house in Leiden, Rembrandt's teacher, Jacob van Swanenburgh, lived and worked. In Rembrandt's early years, Rembrandt learned to paint, draw and etch from him. The studio is a unique stop on the Leiden Rembrandt route that provides an insight into the life of the young Rembrandt. In a beautiful 7-minute 3D video experience, you will get to know the young master and the most important key figures in his life.

When

  • Every tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday and sunday from 12:00 to 17:00
  • The Young Rembrandt Studio will be closed on Thursday, December 25, 2025 (Christmas Day), Friday, December 26, 2025 (Boxing Day), Wednesday, December 31, 2025 (New Year's Eve), and Thursday, January 1, 2026 (New Year's Day).
