This courtyard was founded in 1687 by Catharina Geschier, widow of Jan Michielsz (Jean Michel). From 1680 some houses were already bought.
This courtyard was founded in 1687 by Catharina Geschier, widow of Jan Michielsz (Jean Michel). From 1680 some houses were already bought. These older houses were incorporated into the courtyard. The gate dates from 1610. The houses were intended for four couples and eight women, unmarried or widowed. The residents were members of the Protestant Walloon congregation.
