Palestinian voices from around the world come together at Wereldmuseum Leiden. Through conversations, food, art and testimony, they explore what 'home' means when the space around you is contested. A day of conference and the unveiling of art installation The Palestinian Table.

Imagine Peace: Home & A Palestinian Table is a day of conference, art and encounter centred on Palestinian experiences of home, loss and continuity.

During the conference, Palestinians from the Netherlands, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the region itself speak: from Jerusalem, Gaza, Bethlehem and Lebanon. Among them chefs Joudie Kalla and Fadi Kattan, photographer Samaa Emad Abuallaban, spoken word artist Stryder, illustrator Omar Al Sayed and architect Ali T As'ad. They share how built environments, landscapes and geographies are used as weapons and how communities continue to bear witness, even when their physical world is damaged or erased. The thematic threads of the day: root, wound, counter-force and continuity.

Following the conference, the art installation The Palestinian Table will be unveiled. A large public table surrounded by eleven wooden trees as a living archive, filled with stories, recipes, images and testimonies about food as a carrier of memory, knowledge and resistance. Developed by architect Barry Lewis together with chef Fadi Kattan and Tiny Traveller Books, with work by Omar Al Sayed and texts by Stryder.
