Meermansburg Almshouse
Founded in 1680 by the wealthy Maarten Meerman and his wife Helena Verburg.
Until the Reformation, the Nazareth monastery was located on this site. The court was intended for widows and elderly single ladies. The founders stipulated that their portraits should remain in the court forever. These can still be found in the regents' chamber today.
