Leiden Vaart

This year, the opening takes place at Stichting De Leidse Rederij. The tradition is taking on a sailing character: every year, the opening will take place at the quay of a different shipping company in the city.

The entire proceeds from the sold canal cruise tickets will benefit a good cause! Together, we sail not only for pleasure, but also for the city!

This year, the charity is "Onder water in Leiden" (Underwater in Leiden). This residents' initiative originally started by hanging cat climbing ropes on the quay walls of the Havenwijk in Leiden. Since then, the initiative has grown, and they are now, among other things, surveying the various aquatic animals in the Leiden canals.
