Through the Three Mills

The exhibition begins from the proposition that a house can remember, though not in the way a person does. It remembers materially. Time accumulates in layers of wallpaper, worn floorboards, altered doorways, repaired beams, forgotten objects, and surfaces repeatedly covered and uncovered. These traces do not form a single narrative, nor do they explain the lives once lived here. Instead, they reveal how a building absorbs time, carrying the evidence of continual use, adaptation, and survival within its materials.
