Christina de Korte is an artist and researcher from Utrecht with a great love for color, patterns and textiles.
In her work, she explores how colors, shapes, and repetitions in textiles touch us and tell stories—about traditions, places, and everyday life. This includes examining how knowledge of color, patterns, and techniques is passed down from maker to maker, from generation to generation. She explores this through the Egyptian appliqué technique khayamiya and during her work at the Textile Research Centre (TRC) in Leiden, where she worked with historical and contemporary textiles. She translates these insights into her own visual work.
