METAMORPHOSIS - Koen Hauser and Resi van der Ploeg.

Koen Hauser (1972) examines what happens when a photographic image is detached from its original context and edited. The image transforms and can get new meanings. Koen works with historical (photo) reproductions from books and collections, which he translates into new forms using digital and analogue techniques. This process changes the way the image is viewed.

Resi van der Ploeg (1966) works with various techniques such as screen print, drawing and embroidery. She depicts larger structures through details. Whereas she used to focus on social structures in recent years she has turned her attention to nature. Resi shows that large scale structures often repeat themselves on a small scale. When she adds a figurative element to the abstract structure something in its meaning changes.
