Gert van Dijk creates atmospheric cityscapes of Leiden. Early in the morning, he photographs locations in the city that feature striking light. He then translates these into drawings using a consistent line thickness—a style known as the "Clear Line" (reminiscent of the *Tintin* comics).

Van Dijk does not use solid blocks of color; instead, he prefers working with color gradients, shadows, and patches of sunlight. His drawings often feature a single figure who adds a narrative element to the cityscape: Gert van Dijk’s wife, seen enjoying the city while wearing a red coat. A new annual calendar will also be released soon.
