As part of Dutch Bio Science Week, you can walk the Science Route for free, discovering the past, present, and future of science in Leiden.
During Dutch Bio Science Week, you can pick up the Science Route (worth €6.95) for free at VVV Leiden, Stationsweg 26. Follow the route through the city center and the Leiden Bio Science Park and learn about the groundbreaking research and important discoveries that have taken place in Leiden over the past 450 years.
The route consists of two parts: a walk through the historic city center and a tour of the Leiden Bio Science Park, the largest life sciences cluster in the Netherlands. From the founding of the first University of Holland in 1575 to its recognition as a European City of Science, Leiden has held an international reputation as a center of knowledge and innovation for centuries.
