View one of the oldest telescopes in the Netherlands at the Old Observatory in Leiden.

Every week, the Old Observatory in Leiden organises guided tours at fixed times. During the tour, an astronomy student will take you to one of the oldest telescopes in the Netherlands, which can be found in one of the domes right next to the Old Observatory. You will discover more about the rich history of astronomy in Leiden and learn about the Plants & Planets exhibition. Would you also like to see the inside of the main building of the Observatory? Then you can book a private tour via the Hortus Botanicus website.

Where should I go?
The tour starts on the square in front of the Old Observatory. Are you already in the Hortus? Make sure you report to the Old Observatory desk 10 minutes before the start of the tour. The tour guide will pick up people there before gathering at the official starting point.
