Museum De Lakenhal is the museum for visual arts, history, and applied arts of the city of Leiden. The museum is housed in the former Leiden Cloth Hall from 1640. Did you know that you can also admire work by Rembrandt van Rijn in this museum?

What to see?
In this museum, you will discover the history of the city of Leiden. In seven galleries, you will learn more about Leiden as a university city, Leiden cloth, and the Siege and Relief of Leiden. In Museum De Lakenhal, you will find works by old masters such as Lucas van Leyden, Rembrandt van Rijn, and Jan Steen, but also by modern and contemporary artists such as Theo van Doesburg, Claudy Jonstra, and Erwin Olaf.
Night at the museum
Come to the museum every second Friday of the month, between work and the pub, for a healthy dose of inspiration and knowledge! Visit Lakenhal Laat and participate in an in-depth program consisting of speedy guided tours, lectures, performances, workshops, and music.
