The pilgrim time
The Pilgrim Museum Leiden is located in the heart of the city, at Kloksteeg 16A, near the Pieterskerk. This historic building tells the story of the English Pilgrims who lived in Leiden in the early 17th century before their journey to America.
Pilgrims
The seventeenth-century interior reveals aspects of daily life at that time. Events involving the Pilgrims are illustrated with a remarkable collection of sixteenth and seventeenth-century maps and etchings by artists such as Gerard Mercator, Adrian van de Venne, Adriaen van Ostade and Jacques de Gheyn.
