Walloon Church

A photo of the Walloon church

Originally, this was a 13th-century chapel belonging to St. Catherine's Hospital.

After the Reformation, in 1638, it was given by the city to the English and Walloon communities, Protestants who had fled to the Netherlands. From 1818 onwards, it was the only church of the Walloon community. The tower and facade date from 1739; the facade was renovated in 1890. The church has an organ dating from 1746-1750, built by Gerard Steevens and Pieter van Assendelft.
