Ibis Leiden Centre
The 118-room ibis Leiden Centre hotel, which opened its doors in 2012, is situated in the city centre of Leiden and is ideally located across from Central Station with its bus service to the Keukenhof. The hotel is highly visible from the tracks and train station. The building has a striking façade inspired by allsorts liquorice; since the construction of this hotel, this type of façade layout and colouring has become the new standard for ibis hotels. The high-ceilinged ground floor has a reception, bar, lounge and dining room which are modern and cheerfully designed. On the sixth floor, ibis Leiden has a panoramic view over the historical city centre.
Directly behind this three-star hotel, guests can take a walk into the historical city centre of Leiden, with its canals, listed buildings and a wide range of shops, restaurants and bars. The National Museum of Antiquities is located 200 metres behind ibis Leiden Centre and the Naturalis natural sciences museum is 500 metres from the hotel.
The new ibis rooms have been equipped with comfortable boxspring beds with duvet, and the new ibis bedding from Sweet Bed. There is a desk, a flatscreen television with international channels, and a bathroom with shower, shower amenities and a hairdryer.
The rooms have individually adjustable temperature control and air conditioning, but also have the option to open the windows. The hotel has a lift and is wheelchair-accessible.
ibis provides its guests with a dry-cleaning service and can arrange bike and car rentals.
For a cheerful time with beverages, snacks or a good meal, guests can visit the hotel bar Rendez Vous and the lobby or restaurant, where breakfast is served as well. At ibis the guests have a breakfast buffet with an assortment of rolls, fresh-ground coffee, juices, scrambled eggs with bacon, sausages and a different seasonal special every two months.
ibis Leiden Centre is an environmentally-conscious certified hotel. It has committed to Planet 21, which sets out 21 obligations focused on sustainable development, such as recycled paper, water reduction, energy-efficient lighting, environmentally friendly maintenance products, and separation of waste.
There are options for parking immediately behind the hotel at a well-lit public parking lot or in the nearby Morspoort car park, including parking spaces for charging electric cars.
