Inspired by true events, Equus tells the story of a psychiatrist’s attempt to treat a young man who has a pathological religious fascination with horses. Alan Strang worships horses. Dr. Dysart worships the normal. Only one of them is out of his mind. While treating a case that is so abhorrently violent and disturbing, a psychiatrist learns that his own practices might be equally violent and disturbing.
