In the 16th and 17th centuries, Leiden welcomed a large influx of refugees: French Protestants (Huguenots) who were not welcome in their own country, and inhabitants of the Southern Netherlands (Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges) who had fled the violence of the Eighty Years' War. . This walk takes you past places related to migrants that have been of significance for the Key City.
