Rina Das Baul is one of the most respected and famous Baul singers from West Bengal, India. Bauls are itinerant musicians and poets, and Rina also hails from a Baul family close to Bolpur, the birthplace of the famous Rabindranath Tagore, who was himself a Baul. Rina learned from an early age the lyrics, rhythms and musical instruments from her grandfather. He also taught her to understand the nuances of music and the Baul philosophy.
