The Leiden chamber choir Akkoord gives a concert dedicated to Italian glory: 'Dall' Opera alla Gloria'.
Italy is opera! The program includes parts from Italian operas by Verdi, Donizetti and Bellini. But also Puccini's Messa di Gloria, a youth work in which the composer's predilection for opera is already clearly audible. Conductor is Wim Dijkstra. This afternoon's soloists are tenor Francis Ng and baritone Sinan Vural. Pianist Femke de Graaf provides the accompaniment and will also play the solo with the Intermezzo from Mascagn's opera Cavalleria Rusticana
