De nieuwe wereld van William Tinker (The New World of William Tinker) by Hans Ulrich

In 2007, Hans Ulrich published the book De nieuwe wereld van William Tinker, about the 11-year-old Pilgrim William who lives with his parents in Leiden in 1619.

Ulrich describes the special friendship between William and baker’s daughter Maayke, 17th century Leiden, William’s dangerous boat journey and his first encounter with the Native Americans. The result is an exciting, original story about a slightly neglected subject in Dutch history.
