Gabriel Fauré, one of the most important French composers of his generation, will be honored in 2024, marking the centenary of his death. His beautiful Requiem, one of his most beloved works, will be central during the upcoming concerts of the Chamber Choir Con Passione.
The choir performs Fauré's Requiem in the way Fauré himself had in mind: modest and intimate. Cello octet CelloWercken accompanies the choir. Baritone Berend Eijkhout and soprano Saskia de Man provide the solo parts. In addition to the Requiem, the choir will perform more beautiful French-language music by Poulenc, Deodat de Severac, Duruflé, Villette, Manneke, Leenders and Sweelinck, among others.
